Focus: In social epidemiology, we focus on the description and analysis of the interplay between psychosocial and societal factors and selected indicators of health and illness. Among other things, we analyse the health-related consequences of loneliness among older adults, the interplay between negative working conditions and migration with mental and physical health as well as the education-related and social inequalities among obese adults.
Network: Research collaboration exist with several institutes and departments at the Medical University of Graz: Department of General Practice and Evidence-based Health Services Research, Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapeutic Medicine, Department of Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy, and Institute of Nursing Science
